PEBBLE POOL INTERIORS
ABOUT PEBBLE INTERIORS
The use of pebbles in the lining of pools started in Australia over 30 years ago. Many people may remember the large aggregate used in pebble pool interiors as being rough to touch. Now however, we have available 1mm to 2mm pool pebbles, which when applied correctly by our team provide a fabulous smooth texture. The inert nature and hard but smooth feel of pool pebble means a trouble free and unlimited life span, combined with good looks and appealing water colour.
Although Pebble finishes come in different colours, the actual colour when underwater will greatly depend on the landscape where you live, the time of day and the depth of your pool. Water colour is either Blue or Green, depending on the pebble colour you choose, but the reflection of hills and other natural features near the pool will determine the exact colour of blue or green. This colour will change slightly with the passage of the Sun across the sky.
WHY CHOOSE PEBBLE?
Durability and affordability – with your base colours being Gold Champagne Salt and Pepper and White – your mid range being Blue Ice and Midnight and the Premium range being Galaxy and Mad Blue. Many colours can be achieved, all depending on pebble, glass chips, dye. We have used the same dye company for over 30 years and have not had a problem with fading.
Pebble is equally suited to salt water or chlorine or ozone.
ROLLOVERS
Whilst we have and do rollover copings you must be aware that these can crack and we suggest against this application. Pebble is best off in a controlled environment ie; under the coping pavers / tile, away from the heat of the sun. For this reason we cannot warranty rollovers.
WATERPROOF
Pebble is not a water- proofing agent but a decorative coating.
FENCING
Your new pool cannot be pebbled unless you have had fencing passed by your local council authority or building certifier. This is due to the fact that your pool has to be filled within 24 hours after application. Form 17 required.
WEIR WALLS & TROUGHS, PONDS & CASTELLATIONS (Stepping Stones)
Today many architects are involved with the design of your new pool. Whilst these additions look fantastic a few pointers to help you and save problems down the track. Tile the face of your weir wall – as pebble prefers to be under water many weir walls are in direct sunlight and pebble become drummy if allowed to dry out. Castellations, provide access in some difficult situations, however pebble is a hand trowelled product and variations will occur, we find that tiled castellations provide a more acceptable finish.
PEBBLE GALLERY
Thank you for visiting our gallery of colours. All pools on this web site have been finished by Mad Pool Interiors. Many builders refer their customers onto our web site as I am sure you would agree it is one of the most comprehensive sites for your new interior. However don’t be fooled by imitations, if you do not see our clearly sign written vehicles and our boys in blue arrive at your place, then Mad Pool Interiors are not doing your new interior. So feel free to give our girls in the office a call to ensure that the Mad team are completing your new interior. Don’t be caught out as some customers have been, believing that the Mad Team has been booked or has completed your pool.
