Do not stop the water until the pool is completely full – if the water is stopped before the pool is full, it is likely there will be a ring at the water line that will be difficult if not impossible to remove.

After the filter has been started, the pool should be brushed every second to third day for the first four weeks. If you have a pool cleaner / robot this can be added once filtration is operational. Plaster residue accumulates in all newly pebbled pools and produces a cloudy appearance until cleared by filter system.  This is normal, but if not removed the residue will harden and discolour the surface.

Clean your filter regularly during this period.

Chemical balance of the pool water should be kept at proper levels at all times.  Failure to keep a correct chemical balance will result in a scale build up and discolouring of the pool surface.

PH 6.8 to 7.2 for the first month.  Then 7.2 to 7.6.

Total Alkalinity 150 ppm.

NO CALCIUM  to be added for at least the first month.

Final water colour can take up to 2 weeks to be achieved.

Check after storms that no dirt has been deposited in the pool.

Do not drain the pool without consulting builder, as pool surface can be severely damaged if permitted to dry out.  Draining is not recommended for at least eighteen months, except for repair and then only under professional supervision.

We advise that salt not be added for 28 days after your new interior has been completed. Buy only fine grade salt available at all pool shops as cheaper versions can be detrimental to your new interior. For this period we suggest you run your pool on liquid chlorine during the curing stage.

We suggest you use your local pool shop for all your chemicals and advise as these people are professionals in the field of water chemistry.

The pool should be brushed once daily for the first four weeks

Concrete shell must be clean of all debris, water, tilers glue and concrete overspray.

During colder months please ensure that any water in the pool is drained a week before application of your new interior as concrete holds moisture and with no heat in the day the shell does not dry out enough for your new interior.

It is advised that all penetrations in pool shell (pipes, skimmer box, main drain be sealed prior to application of your new surface).

Glue coat is applied by pump and broomed over surface.

Pebble mix is sprayed on to walls and floor and hand trowelled to a smooth finish.

At the appropriate time the interior is then water blasted to expose your new pebble interior.

All slurry is bagged and left on site for your disposal – or for a charge we can take it away.

The interior is then left to cure.

We return and acid clean the new interior to remove any cement residue.

At this point we fit any necessary pool fittings (supplied by builder).

Hose is left filling your new pool.

You are now ready for your pool builder or pool shop to come in and balance your pool water with chemicals.
